How to Participate in the Public Comment Process

The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding a specific regulation(s) will indicate when the public comment period will end. The Notices can be located by clicking the links under Proposed Rulemaking and Regulations.

There are two ways in which a member of the public may submit public comments regarding the proposed action to adopt, amend or repeal a regulation:

  1. Written comments may be submitted during an open public comment period to:

    Department of Rehabilitation
    Office of Legal Affairs and Regulations
    721 Capitol Mall
    Sacramento, California 95814

    Faxed to: (916) 558-5826

    Or emailed to: legal@dor.ca.gov.

  2. Comments may be received by attending a scheduled public hearing and by submitting written and/or oral comments at the time of the public hearing.

    Notice of public hearings will be posted on the DOR Calendar of Meetings and Events.

All comments must be made during the public comment period in order to be considered by the Department of Rehabilitation.
