Class Description

This class is designed to provide familiarity with the basic provisions of the California's Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).


As a result of attending this class, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the basic provisions, terminology, concepts, principles and employer/ employee responsibilities required by the ADA and California's FEHA.
  • Recognize the Reasonable Accommodation process for the hiring, retention, and promotion of applicants and employees with disabilities.
  • Identify resources on ADA, FEHA, and reasonable accommodations.

Intended Audience

This class is designed for new personnel responsible for implementing or oversight of their department's reasonable accommodation and return to work process. Employees attending this class may sign up for the Practical Solutions to Reasonable Accommodation offered on the same day.
