Benefits to Independence 101
A Self-Guided Course
Welcome to Benefits to Independence 101, Your Path to Employment and Financial Freedom.
This self-paced, comprehensive program is designed specifically for individuals receiving Social Security benefits who are ready to explore employment opportunities and take control of their financial future. Whether you receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), this program will guide you from feeling unsure about working to making informed and confident choices.
Depending on which Social Security disability benefits you are receiving, your course will consist of up to 19 sessions, each approximately one hour in length. Each session builds upon the previous one, offering a clear and thorough understanding of Social Security work incentives, benefit protections, and strategies for success. You will gain practical knowledge about how employment can affect your benefits and how to maintain the essential support you need while pursuing your goals.
Each session includes a PowerPoint presentation, engaging activities, useful resources, and real-world applications to help reinforce your learning. By the end of the program, you will be well-prepared to pursue employment with confidence and a strong foundation for financial independence.
