  • Identify what a Cessation Month and Grace Period are.

  • Explain what happens after the EPE ends and options for reinstatement.

Activities:

  1. Check the current Substantial Gainful Activity level on the SSA website.

  2. Visit the ‘SSDI only Employment Supports’ page in the SSA Red Book to find detailed information on the EPE, other available supports, and a link to the SSA publication Working While Disabled: How We Can Help.

  3. Using the TWP/EPE template, complete the example of EPE in Tool 3 Nuts & Bolts to practice identifying which EPE month results in an SSDI payment.
