Hello! My name is Krystal. I am the Vocational Rehabilitation and Student Services Counselor for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing at the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) Pasadena Branch office. I am fluent in both English and American Sign Language. I started with the DOR in 2017 in the San Francisco District and am now currently with the DOR in the Van Nuys Foothill District. I provide student services primarily with Deaf and Hard of Hearing from Alhambra High School, Burbank High School, and Marshall Fundamental Secondary School. I assist with transitioning the students from high school to post-secondary education and other vocational training, and employment.

Hello! My name is Luis Covarrubias. I am the Student Services Counselor in the Pasadena office. I started with the Department of Rehabilitation in 2016 as a Graduate Student Assistant and now I have the opportunity to work with students between the ages of 16-21. I work with many different school districts including but not limited to: Pasadena, South Pasadena, Alhambra, Arcadia, Monrovia, Temple City and San Marino. I also liaison with charter schools, and other community partners.

My name is Mario Morales. I am a Counselor at the Pasadena branch office. I have been with the Department of Rehabilitation for three years. Prior to my employment with the Department, I worked for San Gabriel Pomona Regional Center for 4 years. I received my master’s degree from Cal State LA in 2012. I work with supported employment consumers, re-entry program (formerly incarcerated), veterans with disabilities and individuals recovering from substance abuse. I assist Students with Disabilities that requires vocational services from the local high schools and charter school. I also liaison with the local AJCCs to serve the Youth and foster youth.

Hello, my name is Melissa. I am the Student Services Coordinator at the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) Pasadena Branch office. I work in partnership with the Student Services Counselor, Luis Covarrubias to serve Students with Disabilities from the following school districts: Pasadena, South Pasadena, Alhambra, Arcadia, Monrovia, Temple City and San Marino.
