Lisa
Lisa's Story – Lisa became disabled after being struck by a vehicle while walking through a crosswalk. After several attempts to go back to work on her own, she was encouraged to try working with the DOR, which included assistance from one of our Work Incentive Planners (WIPs), Jose. In this interview, she discusses the ways DOR made her feel more confident in her pursuit of rejoining the workforce, despite her initial misgivings about going to work while receiving Social Security disability benefits.
Jasmine
Jasmine's Story – Jasmine took advantage of the many employment services provided through the Ticket to Work (TTW) program. She has been blind since birth, and with the support she received from DOR and her WIP, Mayra, she was able to go to college and earn three degrees! Now Jasmine loves teaching children who have disabilities, making her feel very proud and fulfilled.
Dominic
Dominic's Story – In this interview, Dominic shares his story of being born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and the challenges that come with it. However, he also shares all the amazing things that he's accomplished, including being the host of his own podcast and graduating Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University. He credits a lot of his success to the support he received from his WIP, Becky. She showed him many exciting opportunities and helped him believe he could do anything he wanted.
